PRODUCT INFORMATION - SOMETHING NICE TO KNOW

Tiramisu literal means: "pick me up" in Italian. That was the name that Venetian floozies gave to their favourite dish: "zuppa del duca" when they ate it between their amorous assignments. The same words they used to say to their potential clients. People liked it so much that the name resisted. An important ingredient to tiramisu is "mascarpone" a velvety light sour Italian cheese. The origin of the cheese is "Lombardy" a region between cities as Lodi and Abbiategrasso. Tiramisu is also known as "Tuscan Trifle" in Italy. The basic recipe was developed to honour the visit of Cosime de Medici III (Firenze,1639-1723), Duke of Tuscany, to the city of Siena.
